Status: Full Time preferred, but willing to discuss Part Time for the right candidate
Church Size: ~500 Members
 
Job Overview:
The Next Gen Director at 614 Church will be responsible for overseeing the spiritual development and growth of children and youth, from infancy through high school. This role involves leading, developing, and implementing a comprehensive ministry strategy that aligns with the church's mission and vision. The Next Gen Director will collaborate with church staff, volunteers, and parents to create a dynamic and engaging environment for kids and youth to grow in their faith.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
  • Leadership and Vision:
    ○ Develop and implement a vision for the Next Gen Ministry that aligns with the overall mission
    of the church.
    ○ Provide leadership and direction to all children’s and youth ministry programs, in all the current
    and future sites of the church, ensuring they are effective and engaging.
    ○ Recruit, train, and mentor volunteers and leaders within the Next Gen Ministry across all sites.
  • Program Development:
    ○ Plan, organize, and lead weekly programs, special events, and outreach initiatives for children
    and youth.
    ○ Create age-appropriate curriculum and activities that foster spiritual growth and community.
    ○ Coordinate with the worship team to involve children and youth in church services and special
    events.
  • Pastoral Care:
    ○ Build relationships with children, youth, and their families, providing spiritual guidance and
    support.
    ○ Offer pastoral care to students and families as needed, including counseling, prayer, and
    mentorship.
    ○ Partner with parents to support them in the spiritual development of their children.
  • Administration:
    ○ Manage the Next Gen Ministry budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively.
    ○ Maintain communication with parents, volunteers, and the congregation regarding upcoming
    events, programs, and opportunities.
    ○ Ensure all programs comply with child safety policies and procedures.
  • Community Engagement:
    ○ Develop outreach strategies to engage unchurched families in the community.
    ○ Foster a sense of community among children, youth, and families within the church.

Qualifications:

  • A passion for this age group, with a big vision and an excitement to execute on this vision.
  • A strong, personal commitment to Jesus Christ, baptized in water and in the Holy Spirit with a lifestyle
    consistent with Christian faith and values.
  • Bachelor's degree in Ministry, Education, or a related field (preferred).
  • Experience in children’s and/or youth ministry, with a proven ability to lead and inspire young people.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with church staff and volunteers.
  • Familiarity with child safety regulations and best practices.
